Apple Jam Recipe

Ingredients for Apple Jam

  • Apples - 1 kg. (5-6 )
  • Water - 100 grams (1/2 cup)
  • Sugar - 800 grams (4 cup )
  • Elaichi(cardamom) - 4 (peel and crush to make a fine powder)if you want
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp(2 lemons)

How To Make Apple Jam - Apple Jam Recipe

Wash the apples, dry them or wipe with a cloth and peel them. Remove the peel of the apples and cut the flesh into small pieces.

Put the apple pieces in a utensil with a thick base, pour water then cover and boil. Once it comes to boil, boil for another 10 minutes till the apple pieces turn soft.

After apples turn soft mash them properly with a spoon(used to mash).

Put sugar in the mashed apples and stir well to let the sugar blend in. Allow jam to cook, if required you can still mash the apples. Keep stirring to prevent jam from sticking to the pan's base(to check if the jam is cooked, pour a little bit of jam on a plate, it has to fall together, water should not fall separately). Turn off the gas.

With a different method :

You can also prepare Apple Jam in this way, grind the apple pieces in a mixer then add sugar and keep on the gas to cook. Stir jam from time to time and cook till jam is fully prepared.

After the Apple Jam cools down, add lemon juice and crushed Elaichi in it then mix well.

Delicious Apple Jam is ready. You can give this jam to your children right away but its taste gets better the next day.

Fill cold Apple Jam in a sterilized glass jar or bottle and store. If kept in a fridge it can be stored up to 6 months.
