Mix the maida and baking powder in a bowl and sieve them.
Save 20-25 whole almonds and grind rest of them. Soak the saved almonds in luke warm water for half an hour. after half an hour strain the water and cut the almonds into long two pieces.
Take a big sized bowl and put butter in it. Heat it a little so it melts and then add sugar into it. Whisk the mixture well. Add maida into the mixture and keep on whisking it till it becomes smooth and everything dissolves well into each other. Now add milk and ground almonds into the mixture and knead it to make a dough.
Grease the tray with little oil. Take a small portion of the dough, roll it into a round ball, keep it between your palms and press it with light hands. Fix the half chopped almond at the center of the cookies and keep it in the tray.
Prepare more cookies in the same manner and keep them in the tray. While placing the cookies in the tray make sure that 2 cookies are kept at a distance as their size increases on getting baked.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 centigrade. Put the tray into the oven for 15 minutes set at 180 centigrade temperature. Now check the cookies that it has turned light brown from the upper surface and dark brown from the corners. This means your cookies are properly baked. But if this is not the case, then bake them for another 5 minutes. Take out the tray from the oven and let the cookies cool down.
Eggless Almond Cookies are ready. Serve them to your kids and yourself too. Store the remaining cookies in a air-tight container and eat them whenever you like.
